The Censoring Nature of Drishtipat.org

The voice on Unheard Voices is that of an expatriate elite living in the USA, Australia, Europe, etc. And these expats who usually confine themselves to certain refined pockets of Dhaka when they visit their beloved country, have very little in common with the poor population of Bangladesh. These expats, when they talk about unheard voices, what they really mean is their own, self-absorbed and self-serving, chattering voices on the issues affecting Bangladesh. If a common man or woman was to voice himself or herself on something like drishtipat.org, he or she would find his or her self censored and moderated because the overriding voice is that of an emotionally and psychologically insecure bigot.

The crassitude of the schmucks on drishtipat.org astonished and amused me.
One of them, going by the name of "Jodi Kichu Mone na Koren" (or "if you don't mind", one can do nought but admire the wit of this shallowpate), admonishes me with "you should not use this name [Muhamad]. You are giving impression that you are Prophet Muhamad...I do not know who you are, but refrain form this sort of attitude in a public forum."

The expat bigots and fanatics who rejoice in seeing their goons or thugs demonstrate across Bangladesh to put a stop to a piece of legislature to put women in Bangladesh on an equal footing to men, are the same bigots who want me to stop using my birth name on drishtipat.org simply because it gives them the "impression" that I'm "Prophet Muhamad". Well, yes, I might or might not be a prophet but surely Mohammed was one?

During my recent stay in Bangladesh, my eldest brother told me a joke, and the joke is that of a naked fakir, after countless years of nudity, rushing to a clothier's to ask for something to wear. The clothier asks, "sir, why the sudden need for clothes?" The naked fakir answers back with "I've just seen a human being."
The naked fakir character is renowned for his or her cursing and swearing.
So, my question to this fatuous little fucker, Jodi Kichu Mone na Koren (I hope you don't mind), who tells me not to use my own name or wish peace upon myself (peace be upon me!), is simply, "who the fuck are you to tell me that I should not use my name simply because you think I'm your prophet?" Little fucker telling me that I shouldn't wish peace upon myself on a public forum! Is that so fucking bad to wish peace on one's self?! This little fucker doesn't agree or disagree with my comment but instead decides to nitpick at my fucking name! Do know your fucking arse from your elbow?!
This is the bigotted kind of little wanker who might have rejoiced when the Bangladeshi cartoonist Arifur Rahman was put in prison simply because he poked fun at these crassy wankers! And if you say you don't know me, then, who the fuck are you to tell me anything?!

Another little wanker who goes by the name of Abuusa (or abuser, if you like), tells the administrator of drishtipat.org "dear administrator, in the public forum like Drishtipat, One do extreme audacity adding [PBUM]after his name. Would you please stop this fun. Freedom means enjoying your right and liberty responsibly, not harming anyone physically, socially, financially, emotionally, pyschologiically or any known means and manner."

And what does the admin of drishtipat.org say to that? Well, a servile appeaser it seems is eager to apologize despite drishtipat.org's disclaimer about drishtipat.org not taking responsibility for what a responder might say. This is the admin's response on my behalf, "Allowing the offending words was an error on our part, and we apologise for any offence. The words have been moderated, and the commenter is being warned about respecting other readers' sensitivities. No further discussion on this please."

Now, perhaps, the chap who started drishtipat.org has a well-intentioned disposition, but, to censor me merely because my name's been infixed with "pbum" or "peace be upon me" is draconian to say the least of it.

My question to Asif Saleh is why would your organisation do such a thing? I have no doubt you chaps are very clever, so, explain to me what's so terrible about saying "peace be upon me"?

Stare into that header picture of your blog. Breathe deeply and slowly. In silence and with no background music. Be emotional, be Italian, use your hands and body language if it helps. Plead with the universe the following question.

What is this ball of consciousness? What is this ball of consciousness? What is this ball of consciousness? - You can repeat this question more than three times if the spirit moves you. Go with the flow.

I am not this library of memories. I have no history. I have no biography.

I am the space. I have always been the space.

LOL. Ok you can stop now. Md [pbuy] clearly all this wishing of peace upon yourself has not worked. The fundamental DP-ers have disturbed you fundamentally. But if you think about it, you have achieved your aim....so relax man. You are much better when writing satirically.... better than ranting that is...!

Well, that's very Zen bhratr Shafiur, and that's why I added that pic.
Well, I've calmed down now.
Being emotional is more Bengali (and dare I say Indian? Look at all the Bollywood draining and sapping tripe) than Italian; us being, as I've discovered from a Tunisian fanatic, a poetic people. :-)

"What is this ball of consciousness?" Well, you've set me off on one now. What is indeed...But, are you not predicating something of an answer in your linguistically acculturated use of "consciousness?"

"Clearly all this wishing peace upon yourself has not worked." Well, now we can understand something of the difficulty Kotham, aka Halabi, aka Mohammed (and 99 other names) might have countenanced when he tried (like Dubya Bush) to get his Arab brethren to submit to peace.

"disturbed you fundamentally". Yes, the closest they've got to converting me. :-)

Bhai Muhammad,

Good to see you have calmed down.

Your PBUM was interpreted as a sarcasm to prophet Muhammad's PBUH reference which offended a number of folks. Sometimes we do try to keep debates on track and based on past experience our editorial team thought that it was going to create a distraction which was not necessary. Its as simple as that.

Now let's channel that outrage and josh towards something more worthwhile than the "elites of Drishtipat". :)

that was me, Asif, BTW

Well, probashi bhai, I had no recourse but to write the way I did. I guess it's one of those Freudian things. Don't know how familiar you're with psychology or repressive behaviour.
pbuy or pbum isn't at all sarcasm, it's as genuine a wish as pbuh. It's a very simple wish, I'm sure you'd agree, and, since it's such a simple wish, I guess the more cerebral readers of drishtipat.org weren't helped in any way.
My josh is the result of my hosh bhai. I try, as best as I can, to channel it against all the fodder. The task of removing the husk to reveal the rice ain't easy, but...

Which reminds me, wasn't it the great vidrahin kavi Nazrul Islam (the man who's been rehashed for a religious Bangladesh) who once warned us to stay hoshiar? Hoshiar against what, and, or, whom?
